Joseph “JD” Downie brings more than 20 years of experience designing, building, and deploying scalable web applications. His background spans software architecture, full-stack development, and engineering leadership across startup and enterprise environments.

At Garner, JD leads engineering across custom software, integrations, and digital platforms, setting architecture, guiding delivery, and keeping client systems maintainable as they grow.

He also serves as Founding Engineer and Head of Engineering for Evolve ERP, a platform built from the ground up by Garner Agency. In that role, he led the product from initial development through post-revenue growth, remaining hands-on across architecture, engineering, quality, and technical delivery.

His experience includes senior engineering roles at Visiting Media, Nodal Research, and CASEpeer Legal Software. Over the course of his career, he has built with React, Next.js, Node.js, Python, Django, PHP, TypeScript, PostgreSQL, AWS, and Docker.
